The Welcome Basket of Williamsburg: Small Business of the Week
It's time to announce our Small Business of the Week! Today we are highlighting The Welcome Basket of Williamsburg.
Ashlyn Trant and Ashley Campbell met through their sons, who became instant friends at preschool in 2017. Being former teachers, they had a lot in common. They were searching for a way to ease back into the workforce but didn't want to commit to a 9-5. Using their creative juices, they developed a plan to help promote local businesses while spreading kindness. They opened The Welcome Basket of Williamsburg in June of 2018 in Ashley's dining room with 5 sponsors. They now have over 20 sponsors, at any given time, and have moved to an office off of Strawberry Plains Road!
Their goal is to be the first impression to new neighbors in Williamsburg that is a one stop shop for all of the services a new homeowner may need when moving to the area. They love connecting with the community and working with local businesses. They always highlight a local non-profit in their baskets each month as a way to back. Their niche is granting sponsors exclusivity in the basket, so our homeowners are getting the best of the best in their field. Restaurants are the exception, as they offer a different business model, and they have special packages just for them!
