Virginia Peninsula Foodbank: Non-Profit of the Month
We are excited to kick off a new #NonProfitOfTheMonth series, showcasing one of our non-profit members, their impact on our community, and ways to get involved.
This September the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank will be commemorating Hunger Action Month—a time to raise awareness of community hunger and shine a light on the need for healthy food that still remains. The Foodbank encourages neighbors to come together by donating food, funds, or their time to its mission, but it also strives simply to place food insecurity and the obstacles that accompany not having enough to eat in the forefront of our community’s thoughts.
To continue to meet the constant need for nutritious meals, the Foodbank continues to rely on its most important asset: our generous community. Donors and volunteers are the backbone of the Foodbank, and even though hunger is always present, so is the support of our community. Working together, the Foodbank not only provide hunger relief, but also a sense of hope.
